About The Ned

The Ned and Ned’s Club are a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas, and restaurants for like-minded individuals to meet, work and have a good time.


The Ned launched in 2017 in the heart of the City, in the former Midland Bank headquarters. The Ned City of London houses Ned’s Club - a private members’ space, gym and rooftop - alongside a public spa, ten restaurants and bars and 250 hotel bedrooms.


As part of our Engineering department, you will:

  • Perform and oversee regular maintenance and repairs to prevent system failures and extend the lifespan of HVAC units
  • Troubleshoot, repair and resolve issues related to air quality, system inefficiencies, and mechanical malfunctions
  • Service and fault-find on AHUs, FCUs, pumps, boilers, and ventilation systems
  • Support both Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance
  • Monitor and operate the BMS to enhance overall building performance
  • Work on pressurisation units, chilled water systems, AC units, chillers and cooling towers
  • Ensure strict compliance with health & safety regulations and building standards

What you can bring to the role:

  • There are 750+ team working in The Ned, and the engineering department supports and works alongside all of them, so a can-do attitude and great people skills helps us to maintain a great place to work
  • Ideally, you’d have a recognised mechanical or HVAC qualification (Heating & Ventilation is preferred)
  • You are a holder of City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • You will have background knowledge with similar equipment from your previous roles
  • This is a high pressure role, so an ability to stay calm and inspire confidence in others is needed, paired with the ability to pivot problem solve, and re-plan when things inevitably change on occasion
