Do you want to join one of the best places to work in hospitality?

What’s the role?

Head of Membership Development

About The Ned:

The Ned and Ned’s Club are a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas, and restaurants for like-minded individuals to meet, work and have a good time.

The Ned launched in 2017 in the heart of the City, in the former Midland Bank headquarters. The Ned City of London houses Ned’s Club - a private members’ space, gym and rooftop - alongside a public spa, a full floor of events spaces, ten restaurants and bars and 248 hotel bedrooms.

Where you’ll be working

You’ll be based out of The Ned London, located in the beautiful old Midland Bank (there isn’t a nicer building in the city, but we’re biased) with occasional off-site visits to represent us at an event. We’re in the office five days a week, as we’re very relationship-focused and it’s just not the same on a screen.

Reporting to the Commercial Director you will:

  • Shape the future of Ned’s Club by creating and delivering a three-year membership growth strategy to attract a diverse and future focused membership base
  • Manage and build a strong pipeline of prospective members through acquisition events, sponsorship and collaborations, outreach campaigns, and presence at networking events
  • Partner with the Commercial Director and Head of Membership to establish and support the Membership Committee as a key driver of growth, advocacy and community engagement
  • Leverage market insight and data trends to identify risks and opportunities that inform your ongoing strategy and commercial success
  • Lead a small but mighty team of acquisition specialists, setting strategic vision and commercial targets that lead to measurable business impact

What The Ned can give you:

  • Yearly pay of £58,000 to £62,000 depending on experience
  • Every house membership of Soho House
  • Enhanced parental leave, company sick pay and pension
  • Complimentary meals in our friendly team restaurant, Neddy’s including monthly payday breakfast
  • Exciting learning and development programmes to help progress your career
  • Exclusive rates at The Ned for staying and eating for you, your family and friends
  • Regular social events, including an annual pool party
  • Employee assistance programme – 24/7 advice and support
  • Reward and recognition initiatives

What you can bring to the role:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in membership development, professional working, or aspirational lifestyle services in a premium or luxury brand environment, ideally within hospitality, lifestyle or cultural sectors
  • You’ll handle data with confidence to inform strategy and performance decisions with a clear focus on long term value creation, and you’ll have the proven track record to demonstrate it
  • Bringing a strong network within London, you’ll leverage your established relationships across brands, partners and community organisations
  • With your impeccable leadership skills you’ll be equally comfortable motivating, inspiring, and developing your own team, or collaborating across functions and influencing without hierarchy
  • Your proactive and adaptable nature will mean you are comfortable balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day delivery
  • A passion for building community and creating memorable, meaningful member experiences

At The Ned, we don't just celebrate our diversity, we challenge ourselves to do even better. The Ned is committed to being the best place to work, and ensuring that we have a leading diversity, equity and inclusion programme is central to making that vision a reality.

Please let us know of any specific needs you may have during your interview.
