Job Purpose:
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Kitchen Chief Steward to join our dynamic team. As the Kitchen Chief Steward, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency of our kitchen. You will work closely with our culinary team to maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitation while supporting the smooth flow of kitchen operations.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all kitchen areas, including food preparation stations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Manage inventory of kitchen supplies, chemicals, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and coordinating with purchasing departments.
- Lead and supervise a team of stewarding staff, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure efficient operations.
- Oversee waste management procedures, including proper disposal and recycling practices, in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Support kitchen staff during meal services by ensuring timely delivery of clean dishes, utensils, and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and address any issues promptly.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality or culinary industry.
- Strong knowledge of sanitation standards, food safety guidelines, and kitchen operations.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Certification in food safety and sanitation is preferred.
