Located in the former Ministry of Interior building, The Ned Doha offers seven restaurants, 90 bedrooms, event venues, and Ned’s Club, a private members’ club that gives access to spaces including a rooftop terrace, a health club with spa, gym and 30m outdoor pool.


Job Purpose:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hygiene Officer to join our team and help uphold the required cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular and thorough inspections of all hotel areas, including guest rooms, kitchens, dining areas, restrooms, and public spaces, ensuring they meet hygiene and cleanliness standards.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce hygiene policies, procedures, and schedules in line with both local health regulations and international standards.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including monitoring kitchen cleanliness, storage areas, and staff hygiene practices.
  • Oversee the safe handling and proper storage of cleaning materials and chemicals, ensuring staff follow safety protocols.
  • Provide training and ongoing education to hotel staff on hygiene practices, including the correct use of cleaning equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Coordinate with suppliers to maintain an adequate stock of hygiene and cleaning materials.
  • Review and maintain hygiene and cleaning reports and audit documentation.
  • Handle guest feedback regarding cleanliness or hygiene and take immediate corrective actions.
  • Keep abreast of local health and safety regulations and adjust hotel policies accordingly.
  • Assist in the preparation for any audits or health inspections and ensure the hotel consistently passes all evaluations.


Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in the hospitality industry, preferably in a hotel environment within the Middle East.
  • In-depth knowledge of hygiene regulations, food safety standards, and sanitation protocols.
  • Understanding of the local health and safety laws and regulations in the Middle East.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively train and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • A certification in food safety, sanitation, or related field is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the cultural and regulatory standards of hygiene and safety within the region.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages such as Arabic are a plus.
