Engineering is the department that keeps everything working perfectly at The Ned. This isn’t always easy, as our building was designed as a bank, and it isn’t your traditional hotel. We’re responsible for making The Ned an unbeatable experience for our members, guests, customers, and team members and ensuring that attention to detail is second to none.


The engineering team provides 24/7, 365 cover to the hotel, so you will be expected to work some weekends and evenings too.

Shift Engineer


Where will you be working?

Situated in the heart of the City, in the former Midland Bank headquarters, The Ned houses Ned’s Club, a private members’ space, gym and rooftop, alongside a public spa, ten restaurants and bars and 250 hotel bedrooms.


As a key member of the engineering team you will:

  • Work a mixture of shifts providing round the clock support in a 4-on, 4-off pattern
  • Provide general engineering support to the whole business including basic plumbing, carpentry, and basic electrical repair
  • This is an all-rounder role so varied trade knowledge and experience is valuable
  • There are 750+ team working out of the one building, and the engineering department supports and works alongside all of them, so a can do attitude and great people skills helps us to maintain a great place to work
