Job Purpose:
We are seeking a talented and passionate individual to join our culinary team as a Commis. As a Commis, you will work under the guidance of our experienced chefs, assisting in the preparation and production of high-quality dishes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong culinary background and a desire to grow within a dynamic kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes according to recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
- Follow instructions from senior kitchen staff to ensure efficient production and service.
- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- A culinary degree/certification from an accredited institution is a plus.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes, following standardized recipes and instructions.
- Execute basic cooking techniques with precision and consistency, including but not limited to chopping, slicing, grilling, and sautéing.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to stringent sanitation standards and food safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow during service.
- Adhere to portion control guidelines and presentation specifications set by senior kitchen staff.
- Assist in inventory management, stock rotation, and ordering supplies as required.
- Uphold high standards of food quality, freshness, and taste.
